The son of Roy Rowin and Beverly (Long) Spain, Jeffry Dale Spain was born on July 4, 1951 in Borger, Texas. Jeff attended schools in Phillips, TX and Sanford-Fritch, TX before moving to Guymon, Oklahoma where he started his sophomore year. He was a three year member of the Guymon High School Golf Team, competing at the Oklahoma State Meet his senior year. Jeff was the proud recipient of the Jim Hitch Memorial Award for Golf. He graduated with the GHS Class of 1970.

Jeff attended college at Southwestern State College in Weatherford, Oklahoma. During his sophomore year, he represented SWSC in the annual International Collegiate Trap & Skeet Tournament held in Lynn Creek, Missouri. He was also a member of the ROTC Rifle Team with local and state-wide intercollegiate competitions. The team was instructed by Sgt. Major John Jack Frank, who also became his mentor and life-long friend. His love of shooting followed into his adult years as Jeff competed in NRA Hunter Pistol matches and IHMSA handgun matches where he was a respected shooter and friend.

Jeff was united in marriage to Jackie Frantz on August 6th, 1972 in Guymon, OK. The couple graduated from Southwestern State College in May, 1974. Jeff earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. Upon graduation the couple moved to Amarillo, Texas. Jeff worked for Aetna Finance and was also a staff counselor for Goodwill Industries. In 1976, Jeff returned to Guymon and joined his dad, Roy in the family business, Spain Electric.

Following the unexpected death of his father, Jeff continued to own Spain Electric and became a Licensed Electrical Contractor in 1982. Jeff was very proud of his company, eventually expanding to Spain Electric, Inc. which he operated until his retirement in 2018. In his spare time, Jeff loved to play golf, was an avid fisherman and loved hunting and camping.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Jackie of Lowry Crossings, TX: his son Michael Spain and his wife Sara of Orlando, FL, and daughter Kelli Johnson and husband Colby of Celina, TX.
