Jeanette Betterton, 90, former longtime Guymon resident passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 in Amarillo, Texas, where she has lived for the past few years.

The daughter of Donald Nathaniel and Gladys Leora (Storm) Griffis, Jeanette Lee was born September 19, 1931 in Crook County, Wyoming.

Jeanette and Ernest C. Betterton were united in marriage on March 31, 1957 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The family moved to Guymon from Belle Fourche, South Dakota in 1967.  Jeanette was a loving homemaker and had also worked as a waitress.  She enjoyed crocheting and playing cards and dominoes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie Betterton on Feb. 25, 2011; her parents, Don and Gladys Griffis; one sister, Donna Borchgrevink; one son, Mark Betterton and two grandsons, Jeremy and Jesse Betterton.

Jeanette is survived by her three siblings:  Patsy Alms, Gene Griffis, and Jerry Griffis all of Wyoming; six children: Clifford Betterton of Choctaw, OK, Mike Betterton of the US Virgin Islands, Dennis Betterton of Tulsa, OK, Bruce Betterton of Optima, OK, Connie Boyd of Amarillo, TX and Linda Betterton of Amarillo, TX; eleven grandchildren and  nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon , January 15 ^th at 2:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Chapel.
