James K. Hall, 96, longtime Guymon resident passed away Sunday afternoon, February 6, 2022 at his son's home in rural Guymon.
The son of James Arad and Madge Roberta (Holcomb) Hall, James Keith was born November 5, 1925 in Rolla, Kansas.
James proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII as a combat infantryman in the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster Distinguished Unit, three Bronze Service Stars, the World War II Victory Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal.
James K. and Dorothy Devon Gillespie were united in marriage on September 1, 1948 Clayton, New Mexico. The family moved to Guymon in 1954 from Elkhart, Kansas. He worked as a customer harvester and mechanic and enjoyed spending time restoring antique vehicles. He was an active member of the Guymon Tabernacle Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Devon Hall on November 29, 1999; one daughter, Roberta Cristine Hall on May 26, 2009; and eight siblings: Marvin, Max, Victor, Claudia, Dick, Phyllis, Carl and John.
Survivors include his son, Dannie Hall of rural Guymon; one grandson, Lance Hall of Oklahoma City; one brother, Gene Hall and wife, Irma of Sylvia, Kansas; two sisters: Carol Hall of Wichita, Kansas and Mary Ansagar of Arizona; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services with military honors will be conducted Friday afternoon, February 11 th at 2:00 p.m. at the Elmhurst Cemetery with Rev. Van Heckle officiating. Viewing will be Thursday, February 10 th from 9:00 am to 8:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home. Friends can sign the online guestbook and leave condolences at www.bunchroberts.com .
