James "Jim" Hayden Danner, age 83, of Guymon, Oklahoma; passed away Thursday evening, January 22, 2026 in Spearman, Texas.
Jim was born on December 31, 1942, in Guymon, Oklahoma to Hayden E. and Anna Jean (Grice) Danner. He was a member of the Guymon graduating class of 1960. On July 20, 1962, he married Ruth Pierce; beginning a lifelong partnership grounded in love and commitment.
Jim loved being with his family taking camping trips to the mountains or just a quick weekend getaway. He was a heavy equipment operator the majority of his life, retiring after 34 years with Texas County District #2.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hayden and Jean Danner; brother, Rex Danner; a nephew, Brent Schoonover and granddaughter, Jordan Danner.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Danner of 63 years; his son, Hayden Danner (Danna) of Guymon OK; daughter, Nancy Danner (Andy) of Norman OK; his grandchildren: Kaitlin Morris (Austin) of Guymon, OK, Reagan Danner-Brooks (Chase) of Blanchard, OK, Garret Danner of League City, TX and Tatum Gossner of Norman, OK. He has four great-granddaughters: Ava Morris, Autumn Morris, Emma Brooks, and Murphy Brooks. Survivors also include three siblings: Barbara Schoonover (Terry) of Folsom, NM, Marcia Hollingshead (Keith) of Guymon, OK, and Connie Hardesty (John) of Guymon, OK, along with other family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
The family will greet friends on Friday evening January 30th between hours of 6:00 and 7:30 p.m. at Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, January 31st at 2:00 p.m. at Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home with Chase Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery.
The Danner family request memorials in lieu of flowers be given to Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Memorials will be accepted at Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942. Friends can sign the online guest book and leave condolences at www.bunchroberts.com.
