Obituary

James Edwin Carter, 74, Guymon resident for the past forty years, passed away Friday morning, November 26, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

The son of Clarence Edwin and Helen Francis (Petty) Carter, he was born April 15, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio. Jimmy attended school in Columbus, graduating from the Linden-McKinley High School in 1965.

Jimmy helped operate the Friday Dunes Hamburger feeds for over twenty years, and was a VMUMC Local Missions volunteer. He was owner and operator of Jim Carter Painting, instructing people in painting and dry wall technique's.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Helen Carter, and one sister, Barbara Felice.

Survivors include five children: Michell Fillmore and husband, Matthew of Ohio, Nicole Redman and husband, Scott of Texas, Dannielle Yeprem and husband, Andrew of Tennessee, Harley Carter of Oklahoma and Joshua Carter and wife, Brittany of Oklahoma. Survivors also include two sisters, Janice Smith and husband, J.J. of Texas, and Charlotte Carter of Texas, one brother, Jeff Carter and wife, Linda of Texas, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Jimmy's birthday, April 15, 2022 at the Dunes. Friends can sign the online guest book and leave condolences at www.bunchroberts.com.
