George A. "Jack" Pratt, 92, passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 7, 2017 at the Heritage Community Manor in Guymon.

The son of Walter and Jewel (Christal) Pratt, he was born in Corsicana, Texas on September 21, 1924. He graduated from Texhoma High School with the Class of 1942. He entered the U.S. Army during World War II, serving under General George Patton in the "Battle of the Bulge" with the 3rd Army. He served from 1943 to 1945.

Jack attended college at Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas and Panhandle A&M College in Goodwell, Oklahoma. While attending PAMC he received his private pilot's license in 1946. He enjoyed flying his private planes for over 50 years.

Jack married Imogene Flynt on May 22, 1948 in Clovis, New Mexico. She preceded him in death on November 9, 1986 following 38 ½ very happy years. Jack was a master brick layer for 50 years, working all over the United States, in Mexico and in Wales.

Jack and Virginia Lee of Guymon were married on March 16, 1988 in Clayton, New Mexico. The first 10 years of their marriage, they traveled in their motor home all over the United States. Their last few years, they enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens for lunch, to Keenagers and Joy Club in Texhoma for pot lucks and meeting with the "General Telephone Retirees" and of course they loved going to the Church of Christ, keeping fairly busy every day.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gene; one granddaughter, Serena Aufleger and one half-sister, Trudy Mills.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia of the home; three children: Jan Heiskell and husband, Merle of Ft. Worth, Texas, Georgia Scott and husband, Bill of Atlanta, Georgia and Chuck Pratt and wife, Cindy of Paul, Idaho; two step children: Jane White of Aptos, California and Mark McGrew and wife, Karen of Guymon, Oklahoma. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; step-sister, Pat Kittle of Texhoma; two half-sisters: Jo Schroeder of Pampa, Texas and Donna Kuykendall and husband, Laddie of Texhoma; half-brother, Butch Pratt and wife, Pam of Rupert, Idaho; along with many wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning, February 11th at 10:00 a.m. at the Guymon Church of Christ with Lyndol Hale officiating. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. at the Texhoma Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, February 10th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
