Izek Sergio Chaparro, 18, of Guymon passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 31, 2017 at the Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

The son of Elva Sanchez Rodriguez, Izek was born September 10, 1998 in El Paso, Texas. They moved to Guymon when he was two years old. Izek attended the Guymon school system and had just received his diploma with the GHS Class of 2017.

Izek was known for his smiling face and ability to find the positive in anything. He was an active member of the Guymon Cross Country team, as well as enjoying track and weight lifting. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Izek had proudly enlisted to serve his country in the U.S. Army and was scheduled for enlistment on July 24th.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Elva Sanchez Rodriguez and Rosalio Gamboa; his brother, Ivan Daniel Sanchez, all of Guymon; grandparents, Silvia Rodriguez and Catarino Sanchez of Mexico; his special friend, Alicia Moreno; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Rosary will be recited Friday evening, June 2nd at 6:00 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Guymon. Funeral Mass will be conducted Saturday morning, June 3rd at 10:00 a.m., also at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Father Raul Sanchez, Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
