Irvin Boyd, 88, lifelong Gruver, Texas resident, passed away Wednesday morning, March 20, 2019 at the Hansford County Hospital in Spearman, Texas.

The son of Harrison Lewis and Eva Mae Boyd, he was born December 12, 1930 in Meade, Kansas. Irvin attended county school and graduated from Gruver High School in the late 1940's.

He was united in marriage to Helen Sanders on May 22, 1951 in Gruver. Mr. Boyd was engaged in farming and ranching. He was a member of the Gruver First Christian Church. Irvin served on several farm boards and the Stationmaster's House Museum.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two daughters, Betty Lou West and Mary Sue Wester.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Boyd of Gruver, two sons, Willis Boyd and wife, Sherry of Spearman, Texas and Daniel Boyd of Gruver and fiancee, Kim Turner of Perryton, Texas. Survivors also include nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, two brothers, Bernie Boyd and Harley Boyd both of Mena, Arkansas.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning, March 22nd at 10:00 a.m. at the Gruver First Christian Church with Rev. Gary Gumfory officiating. Interment will follow in the Gruver Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
