Herbert Metcalf, 91, longtime Guymon resident, passed away Thursday evening, August 1, 2024 in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

The son of Lowell and Tobitha Lucille (Manley) Metcalf, he was born August 26, 1932 in Heavener, Oklahoma

Herb and Janice Barnett were united in marriage on July 14, 1959 in Grand Canyon, Arizona.  The Metcalf family moved to Guymon from  Phoenix, Arizona in the early 1970's.

Herb served in the United States Air Force.  He was a welder and truck driver for Shupe Bros. and Muse Trucking for several years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Lucille Metcalf, his wife, Janice Metcalf on May 8, 2002, and two brothers, Herman and Leon Metcalf.

Survivors include four sons: Jerry Metcalf and wife, Sandy of Guymon, Willie Metcalf and wife, Christie of Kiowa, Kansas, Robert Metcalf and wife, Misty of Ardmore, Oklahoma and Herbie Metcalf and wife, Claudia of Liberal, Kansas.  Survivors also include nine grandchilren: Austin Metcalf, Jeffery Metcalf, Amanda Kurtz, and husband, Will,  J.J. Metcalf, Oneil Metcalf and wife, Erin, Evelyn Ybarra, Isaac Ybarra, Marco Alonso and Abram Bach, four great grandchildren: Cheyenne Kurtz, Laura Kurtz, Stetson Metcalf, Sterling Metcalf and a special cousin, Edwina Myers.

Funeral services will be Wednesday morning, August 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home with Rev. Odie Nunley officiating.  Interment will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 6th between the hours of 2:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home with the family being present to greet friends from 5:00 to 6:00.  Friends can sign the online guestbook and leave condolences at www.bunchroberts.com.
