Haskell Max Keenan, 80, lifelong Guymon resident, passed away Sunday evening, May 31, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
The son of Paul Bryan and Lorene Delseenia (Wilson) Keenan, he was born December 28, 1939 in Guymon, Oklahoma. Max attended the Guymon school system, graduating as class president of the GHS Class of 1958.
Max and Mary Lou Gordon were married in August 1958 and they had four children: Jo Karen, Casey, Martin and Clayton. Max and Sue Simmons were married on November 16, 1983 in Stratford, Texas. She preceded him in death on February 28, 2010.
Max worked as a supervisor in the oilfield industry. He was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church and had served as a past city council member.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue, his parents and one brother, Larry Keenan.
Survivors include his six children: Jo Wester of Guymon, Casey Keenan and wife, Tammie of Guymon, Martin Keenan and wife, Amber of Dexter, New Mexico, Clayton Keenan and wife, Tandy of Waynoka, Oklahoma, Christy Brownd and husband, Gary of Canyon, Texas and Tamy McCarney and husband, Joe of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Keenan and wife, Susie of Hooker, Oklahoma; one sister, Karen Rice of Guymon and sister-in-law, Peggy Keenan of Guymon.
Graveside memorial services will be conducted Thursday morning, June 4th at 11:00 a.m. at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon with Rev. Van Heckle officiating.
The Keenan family will greet friends on Wednesday evening, June 3rd from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home. Memorials in memory of Max can be made to a favorite charity and will be accepted by Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.
