Obituary

Guadalupe F. "Lupe" Gonzales, 83, longtime Guymon area resident passed away early Friday, May 29, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

The son of Esteven Gonzales and Manuela Flores, he was born May 12, 1937 in Kenedy, Texas.  Lupe came to the Oklahoma Panhandle in 1956, living in Boise City and Guymon.

He and Dominga Aguilar were united in marriage in 1963.  Lupe began working for Behne Constuction in 1966.  He retired in 1996, following 30 years of service.  He was a member of the Guymon Seventh-day Adventist Church.

He was preceded in death by one son, George Gonzales; one daughter, Yolanda Gonzales Casaus; his parents; two sisters, Audelia Guerra and Maria Ornelas; and one brother, Ramiro Alvear.

He is survived by his wife, Dominga Gonzales of the home; his children:  Victor Perez of Guymon, Adrianna Engel of Woodward, Guadalupe Gonzales, Jr. of Marietta, Oklahoma, Elizabeth Gilkey of Hooker and Jesse Gonzales of Amarillo; along with 17 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren; one sister, Alicia Lopez of Poth, Texas; brothers: Robert Alvear of Kenedy, Texas, Rueben Alvear of Kenedy, Texas and Raymond Alvear of Beeville, Texas along with many nieces and nephews, a host of friends and other family

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon , June 2nd at 2:00 p.m. at the Boise City Cemetery with Pastor Robert Perez officiating.  Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
