Glen L. Seymour, Jr. went to be with the Lord on Tuesday afternoon, December 19, 2017 following a lengthy illness. He passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 71.
The son of Glen L. Seymour and Catherine Kirkland he was born October 15, 1946 in Dumas, Texas. When Glen was 16 he joined the Job Corps returning to Guymon at the age of 18. He was married to Jeanne Matthyer in Guymon. To this union Kristi Alene was born in 1975. She was his only child, and gave him two beautiful granddaughters, Kristina Renee and Madison Leigh.
Glen made his living in the oilfields moving from roughneck to driller to tool pusher. He was a golden gloves boxer under the coaching of Bill Beaman.
He is preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents, his father and mother, Glen Seymour Sr. and Catherine, his wife, Jeanne, sister, Sharon Seymour, three nephews, Clifford Ron Seymour, Landon Edwards and Chantry Clay, one niece, Anglea Dawn Culver, sister-in-law, Carolyn Eastland, and brother-in-law Glynn Harmon.
Survivors include his daughter, Kristi Seymour and Lance Luddington of Hastings, Nebraska, his granddaughters, Kristina Renee and Madison Leigh both of Hastings, Nebraska, four brothers, Clifford Seymour and wife, Shirley of Guymon, Bill Seymour and wife, Carla of Guymon, David Eastland of LaJunta, Colorado and Paul Eastland of Wichita, Kansas, one sister, Edith Harmon of Guymon and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life service will be conducted Friday afternoon, January 5th at 2:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Chapel. Inurnment will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
