Floid C. Harkins, Jr., 81, of Tupelo, Oklahoma former area resident passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026 at the Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

The son of Floid Cornelius and Annie Belle (Duncan) Harkins, Sr. he was born January 27, 1944 in Lane, Oklahoma.  Following high school, Floid served his country in the US Army during Vietnam.

Floid had worked as a truck driver for Chris Hunt Trucking for 26 years in Keyes, Oklahoma and then for Phillips Petroleum in Oklahoma City and Norman for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant siblings: C.T. Harkins and twins, Ruby Nell and Robert Dale Harkins; and his son, Johnnie Joe Harkins in October 2023.

Survivors include his two sisters: Elizabeth "Jane" Beeson of Norman, Oklahoma and Judy Harkins of Boise City.  He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other extended family.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, January 10th at 3:30 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Chapel with Rev. Odie Nunley officiating.  Interment will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery.
