Ellen Rosamond Macias, lovingly known as "Rose" was born on May 3, 1934, in Perryton, Texas, to Gerhart Edward Schroeder and Minnie Bell Walker Schroeder. She lived a long and meaningful life centered on love, family, and home.

On June 21, 1953, she married Alex Joe Macias. To this union were born five children: Steven, Curtis, Clifton, Todd, and Alisa. Together they built a family filled with love, faith, and lasting memories.

Rose was a grandmother to many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, and being in her home was a treasured memory for them. She showed her love in countless ways, especially through making cookies, cakes, and homemade dinners for her family. Her home was a place of comfort, warmth, and togetherness, and those moments will be remembered for generations.

Rose had seven brothers and one sister, all of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alex Joe Macias, in 2021.

Throughout her life, Rose served others in many ways. She was a Cub Scout leader, a bus driver for school children, and a partner in the family business, A&E Mobile Homes.  Many may not have known that the "E" in the business name stood for Ellen, a quiet but meaningful reflection of her role in helping build and support that work.

Rose was also known for the wisdom she shared with her children and grandchildren. She often reminded them that words are like an arrow shot—once they are released, you cannot get them back. She also taught that birds of a feather flock together, encouraging them to choose their company wisely. Her favorite lesson was the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Those words remain a lasting part of her legacy.

Rose will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to her family, and the special way she made every gathering feel like home. Her life and legacy will continue in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Rosary services will be Tuesday evening, May 19th at 7:00 p.m. at Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home in Guymon.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday morning, May 20th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Joseph Schwarz, celebrant.  Interment will follow at the Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian, Texas at 3:00 p.m. with Father Marco Gonzalez officiating.
