Elier Sarmiento Hernandez, 37, of Goodwell passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The son of Eliodoro Sarmiento Hernandez and Luisa Hernandez Hernandez, Elier was born on January 17, 1980 in Pinar Del Rio, Cuba. He traveled from Cuba to Florida in 2007 and then moved to the Guymon area in 2009, where he has lived the past nine years.
"Tiza" was a hard working family man employed by Prestage Farms in Texhoma. If he was not at work providing for his family, he loved to be hunting, fishing, or helping raise farm animals. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He loved horses and he loved his dog Bartolo. He was a family man who cherished time spent with those he loved. He was a kind, gentle, and compassionate soul. He genuinely loved people. He was constantly happy and always smiling. He carried happiness and love to everyone he spent time with. Above all great things he accomplished, he was an amazing father. He was proud of his son. He was the most loyal, understanding, unconditionally loving husband. He will forever be remembered in our hearts smiling and sharing love.
He is survived by his spouse, Kayla Westcott Sarmiento of the home in Goodwell; one son, Angel Raul Sarmiento of Guymon; his parents, Eliodoro and Luisa of Cuba; and two brothers: Alexander Sarmiento Hernandez and Yosbani Sarmiento Hernandez.
