Elaine Edwards, 75, longtime Guymon resident, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 10, 2019 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County.

The daughter of Jimmie George and Mary Irene (Price) Heftner, she was born July 28, 1943 in Holdenville, Oklahoma.  The family moved to Guymon from Holdenville in 1948.  Elaine attended school in Guymon, graduating with the Class of 1962.  She was a member of the Guymon Nazarene Church.

She was united in marriage to Lynn Edwards on August 24, 1963 in Guymon.  Elaine managed several fast food businesses, retiring from Mr Burger in 1983.  Following retirement she enjoyed her family and painting.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Lyndal Heftner and granddaughter, Nikol Edwards.

Survivors include her husband, Lynn Edwards of the home, two sons, Rick Edwards and wife, Dana of Oklahoma City and Darrell Edwards and wife, Marit of Guymon.  Survivors also include three grandchildren: Rowdy and Dillon Edwards of Guymon and Cheyenne Edwards of Perryton, Texas; nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning, January 15, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Guymon Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Angela Walker officiating.  Interment will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery.  Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

Memorials in memory of Elaine may be given to the Nazarene Church.  Memorials will be accepted at the church office or the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942.
