Dorothy Henderson, 98, longtime Guymon resident passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at the Heritage Community Manor.

The daughter of Roy and Lela (Wadley) Lay, she was born December 9, 1921 in Tyrone, Oklahoma.

Dorothy and William P. "Bill" Henderson were united in marriage on June 10, 1938 in Big Springs, Texas.  He preceded her in death on July 1, 1995.  The Henderson family moved to Guymon in 1944 from Big Springs, Texas.

Dorothy was a homemaker as well as working as a bookkeeper for the family business, Henderson Construction until her retirement in 1978.  She was an active member of the Guymon First Baptist Church since 1944 and enjoyed playing cards with friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, son, Don Henderson and two grandsons: Christopher Henderson and David Eugene Price.

Survivors include her daughter, Helen Price of Guymon; one sister, Barbara Ann Lay of Guymon; three grandchildren:  Michael Price and wife, Brenda of Ulysses, Kansas, Kevin Price of Guymon and Cherie Henderson of Ft. Collins, Colorado; six great grandchildren:  Hannah Price, Morgan Price, Clara Price, Brittney Baeza and husband, Michael, Dylan Appelmann and Emma Appelman, and one great-great grandchild,  Kenzie Price with another on the way.

Family graveside services will be conducted Saturday, September 19 ^th at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon with Rev. Michael Carter, pastor of Guymon First Baptist Church officiating.  Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

The family will greet friends on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Dorothy's home, 911 N. Roosevelt.
