Dorothy Belle Bonn, 95, of Guymon; passed away Wednesday morning, June 28th, 2017 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County.

The daughter of George Albert and Carrie Estelle (Thompson) Long, she was born, December 18, 1921 in Collinsville, Illinois. Dorothy attended school in Collinsville graduating with the Class of 1939.


She was united in marriage to Vernon Louis Bonn Sr. in Arvada, Colorado in September of 1941. He preceded her in death in November of 2001.

Dorothy has been a resident of the panhandle since 2009, and was a member of the Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Guymon.

She is survived by three children: Vernon Bonn and wife, Neddy of Guymon, Sharon Rekstad and husband, Roger of Mesa, Arizona and Michael Bonn and wife, Caroline of Atkins, Arkansas. Survivors also include eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, two step grandchildren, four step great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted Thursday morning, July 13th at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Wescoatt officiating. Family inurnment will be at the Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Edwardsville, Illinois. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

Memorials in memory of Mrs. Bonn may be given to the Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church or the Heritage Community Manor. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942.
