Donnie Gene Werner, 87, longtime panhandle resident, passed away Tuesday afternoon, November 17, 2020 at the Coldwater Manor in Stratford, Texas.

The son of Henry and Sadie (Fehr) Werner, he was born July 10, 1933 in Alva, Oklahoma. The family moved to the panhandle from Alva in the late 1940's.

Don was engaged in farming and ranching. He attended school in Guymon, graduating with the Class of 1951, and was a member of the Panhandle Bible Center.

Don was married to Fleta Grimmer on August 14, 1954 in Hardesty, Oklahoma, she preceded him in death on February 9, 1992. He was married to Myra Hampsten on May 8, 1999 in Guymon, she preceded him in death on October 21, 2008. He is also preceded in death by his parents, son, Mark Werner and brothers, Bill and Bobby Werner.

Survivors include his son, Keith Werner and wife, Marie of Guymon, daughter, Teena Rupe and husband, Gary of Clearwater, Kansas, seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at a later date, and announced by Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

Memorials in memory of Don may be given to the Coldwater Manor. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma
