Donald F. Masse, 71, passed away Saturday evening, June 29, 2024 at his home in Guymon surrounded by his loving family.
The son of Roland and Joan Elizabeth (Moon) Masse, he was born July 18, 1952 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Don graduated from Mira Costa High School, Manhattan Beach, California in 1970. He was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.
Don and Judy Birdsill were united in marriage on April 17, 1971 in Hermosa Beach, California. They moved to Guymon from Redondo Beach, California in 1976. Don worked several jobs, retiring in 2014 with the City of Guymon sanitation department.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Joan Masse, step-father, Sal Totaro, son, Donald Robert Masse and father and mother-in-law, Robert and Edith Birdsill.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Masse of the home; daughter, Susan and husband, Chad Newman of Guymon; son Brian Masse of Glenpool, Oklahoma; and two grandchildren: Alexandra Newman and Nathan Masse. Survivors also include five brothers: John Masse of Bullhead City, Arizona, Rick Masse and wife, Jean of Bullhead City, Mike Masse of Canyon Lake, Texas, Dennis Masse of Bullhead City, and Tommy Masse and wife, Lori of Spring Branch, Texas; along with numerous brothers and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday July 5th between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning, July 6th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with Father John Herrera celebrant. Interment will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery.
The Masse family request memorials in lieu of flowers be given to: Medical Center League House, Panhandle Partners or Pink Heels. Memorials will be accepted at Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942. Friends can sign the online guestbook and leave condolences at www.bunchroberts.com.
