Donald Ray Rhoton, 84, lifelong panhandle resident, passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 22, 2017 at the Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.

The son of Charles Franklin and Bonnie Maud (Nall) Rhoton, he was born November, 26, 1932 in Keyes, Oklahoma.

Donald and Carol Jeane Ivie were united in marriage on December 22, 1952 in Keyes.

Donald attended school in Keyes graduating with the Class of 1950. He attended college at Oklahoma University in Norman and Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, graduating with a BA in education. Don was a farmer and taught school in Guymon and Keyes, where he was also involved in administration, retiring in 1993.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Charles Rhoton and two sisters, Nadine Miller and Carrol Louise Greenwood.

Survivors include his wife, Carol of the home; two daughters: Candi L. Kelly and husband, Jim of Guymon and Tami King and husband, Keith of Stratford, Texas. Survivors also include four grandchildren: Chelsea and Clint Durbin of Guymon, Jennifer and Ben Hangartner of Celina, Texas, Jessica and Swenson Audrain of Stratford, Texas and Josh King of Perryton, Texas; and ten great grandchildren: Wyett Chase, Colson and Coy Durbin, Shaylee, Reaghan, Cody-Paige and Sam Audrain and Kingston, Kennedy and Kamdyn Hangartner.

Funeral service will be conducted Monday morning, February 27th at 11:00 a.m. at the Panhandle Bible Center with Jim and Tillie Jamieson officiating. Interment will be Monday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the Willowbar Cemetery, Keyes, Oklahoma. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
