Delmer Lynn Owens, 66, passed away Friday morning, January 8, 2021 at the Alliance Health Hospital in Woodward, Oklahoma.
Delmer was born November 28, 1954 in Minneola, Kansas, the son of Deloris (Costner) and Ed Winter. He was raised in SW Kansas, the Oklahoma Panhandle and had lived for a time in Arkansas, graduating from high school in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He then attended Okmulgee Tech, where he studied Industrial Electronics.
Delmer and Brenda Gail Robinson were united in marriage on June 28, 1984 at the Eva, OK Community Church. They made their home in Guymon for over 35 years, moving to Woodward two years ago. Delmer worked as a welder and for the past 10+ years worked for Milton Walker at Tapping Solutions.
He was a member of the Victory Center while in Guymon and the Cross Pointe Church in Mooreland. Delmer loved his Lord whole-heartedly and enjoyed ministering to anyone he came in contact with, he knew no stranger. Music was very special to Delmer and he played the bass guitar in several bands and praise teams. He was an avid gun enthusiast, member of No Man's Rifle & Pistol Association and participant at many shooting competitions. Another great love of his was his dog, Wyatt and a nice hot cup of coffee.
Delmer was preceded in death by his birth father, Bill Moore; his parents, Pete Owens and Deloris (Costner) Owens-Shepherd and Ed Winter; two brothers: Jeff and Tim Moore and his mother-in-law, Betty Aaron.
Survivors include his wife of over 36 years, Brenda Owens of the home; his two daughters and four grandchildren: Diane Shott and husband, Terry and children, Stella and Gavin of Huntsville, Arkansas and Jessica Garcia and husband, Pablo and children, Noah and Evalee of Woodward, Oklahoma; brother, Todd Owens of Oklahoma City and his son, Jayden; sister, Terri Owens of Harrah, Oklahoma and her daughter, Tawni; along with numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon, January 11 th at 1:30 p.m. at the Victory Center in Guymon with Pastor Charlie Mendenhall and Pastor Jerry Chumley of the Cross Pointe Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Cross Pointe Church or Victory Center. Memorials will be accepted at Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942. Friends can sign the online guestbook and leave condolences at www.bunchroberts.com .
