Obituary

Delbert Kenneth "Del" Lambley, Jr., 80, of Hooker, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday morning, April 11, 2024 surrounded by immediate family at the Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.

The son of Delbert and Audrey Lambley, he was born April 3, 1944 in Hooker.  Del attended school in Hooker, graduating with the Class of 1963, he then attended Okmulgee Technical School in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, graduating in 1965.  He was a member of the First Christian Church in Hooker.

Upon graduation he worked in Tulsa as a parts manager at the Chick Norton Buick dealership. In 1973 he moved back to Hooker and operated a custom harvesting crew with his father, employing many men from a multitude of countries including but not limited to the United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Ukraine, Romania, Germany, France, and Mexico.  He also ran a fleet of trucks and was a lease operator, trucking grain, cattle, processed beef and other goods cross country.

Married in 1965,  Del & Carol Weiss had two sons, John and Mike Lambley.  On November 5, 1982 he married Jeanne (Thompson) Pospisal at the First Christian Church in Guymon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Audrey Lambley, his wife, Jeanne Lambley, and brother, Bill Lambley.

Survivors include two sons, John F. Lambley and Mike J. Lambley and wife, Mignon all of Hooker, one sister, Bertha Dunn and husband, Joe of Lakeview, Texas, five grandchildren: Kyle Lambley, Boone Lambley, Burke Lambley, Vaughn Lambley, Joelle Pospisal and Kalie (Pospisal) Johnson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday evening, April 15th between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home in Guymon.

Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon, April 16th at 2:00 p.m. at the Hooker Wesleyan Church with Pastor Jim Reeves officiating.  Interment will follow in the Hooker Cemetery.
