David Wayne Goad was born to Jan Goad and Pete Goad on February 24, 1965 in Dumas, Texas.  David went to school in Dumas, TX, Hugoton, KS and he graduated in Guymon, OK in 1983.  He then attended Oklahoma University for two years, where he majored in Psychology.

David is survived by his mother, Jan Goad of Guymon, his dad, Pete Goad of Manchester, TN and sister, Christine Kirk of Guymon.  He was a special uncle to Nathan, Austin and Tyler Kirk.

David loved sports from grade school through high school – football, basketball, baseball and track.  He also loved animals.  He had lots of different pets growing up, but when he asked if he could have a ferret, his mom had to draw the line.

David had lived in Colorado for a number of years before moving to Tennessee where he had worked in numerous jobs.  He enjoyed traveling when family came to visit and had planned many fun trips to Nashville, Memphis, Chattanooga and Gatlinburg, where many happy memories where made.  David also enjoyed cooking and has passed down many recipes to family.

David accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior on January 14, 2025 at 4:30 p.m.  I know the angels were singing.  In his brokenness, God's love has made him whole.  He passed away January 30, 2025 in Franklin, Tennessee at the age of 59.  He has been cremated and his ashes will be spread by family in his favorite places.
