Obituary

David Franklin Coffman, 77, former Hooker/Guymon resident, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 7, 2026 at the Norton County Hospital in Norton, Kansas.

The son of Novie Leroy and Norma Jean (Kirk) Coffman, he was born June 23, 1949 in Guymon.  David attended school in Hooker, graduating with the Class of 1967.

David and Diana Lynn (Scheidt) were married on June 6, 2012 in Norton, Kansas, they made their home in Almena, Kansas.  David worked for several years in Hooker and Guymon as a barber.  He worked for the State of Kansas as a prison officer, retiring in 2016.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Novie and Norma Jean, one brother, Steven Coffman and grandson, Austin Thomas Coffman.

Survivors include his wife, Diana Lynn Coffman of the home in Almena, Kansas, son, Dustin Coffman of Hooker, daughter, Debbie Baker also of Hooker, step-son, Todd Gooding of Oklahoma City, seven grandchildren, including Patience Epperly and husband, Lee, Brooklyn Baker and Devyn Baker, four great grandchildren including Zaidyn and Kaisyn.  One brother, Robert Coffman and wife, Cheryl of Guymon, and two sisters, Tina Spencer and husband, Gary of Hudson Oaks, Texas, and Serena Riewe of Seymour, Wisconsin.

Services will be conducted Thursday, July 23rd at 1:00 p.m. at Bunch – Roberts Chapel with Rev. Odie Nunley officiating.  Family inurnment will be in the Elmhurst Cemetery.
