Christopher James Sander was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on January 14, 1978 and he passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025 in Guymon, Oklahoma at the age of 47. Chris grew up in a difficult environment, but was adopted at 14 by Bill and Joy Sander who became his loving parents.
Chris graduated from Seiling High School in 1997. Chris played football for Seiling and enjoyed playing very much. He would share those stories of his football days with his daughters and his youth kids. Chris went on to do many things after his high school graduation learning to be a jack of all trades, moving to many places. He was a person that was never afraid to try something new. All those life experiences taught him to be the person who he became.
Chris moved to Guymon to start a new adventure, he began working at the meat department at United under Donnie Guerra. As many have said the one thing they always remember seeing at United was his big smile. Chris would go on to meet his wife while working at United. He for many years worked on getting that first date, and from there their love story began.
Chris and Maria were married on December 22, 2006m beginning their great adventure together. Chris became a loving husband and a nurturing companion to Maria. He would push Maria a little out of her comfort zone to help her to grow. In September 2008, they welcomed their first child Haley - Haley was the light of his eyes and he loved her very much. He was a very loving father to his little girl. In August of 2010 they welcomed their second daughter Brooklyn. Brooklyn was his little firecracker, she became his little companion where he would go she had the curiosity to follow. He loved both his girls so very much.
Chris always knew of Jesus Christ, but was baptized later in life. Chris was baptized by his father Bill and was later baptized again at his local church Iglesia Pentecostal Unida. Chris loved the Lord and the word for the Lord, helping wherever he could. He started helping with the sound and media at his church, later helping with the youth. He liked to work at the church any time he had a free chance. In his last years Chris helped in preaching wherever he was needing. He was always very appreciative of his pastor and friend Jorge Holguin. He had many great men of God as mentors in his life which shaped his spiritual growth.
