Obituary

Edward "Chilly" Martinez was born on November 12, 1970 in San Antonio,Texas. Chilly passed away unexpectedly surrounded by his family on July 5, 2025 in Englewood, CO. Chilly lived a life full of laughter, generosity, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.

Chilly is preceded in death by his brother Gilbert "Gibby" Martinez, his beloved in-laws Shirley and Daniel Christian and Johnnie Allen. He is also preceded in death by many other loved ones as well.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Jennifier Christian, three beautiful children Triston Anthony Martinez of the home, Jazmin Abagail Ponce and husband Danny Ponce of Guymon,OK and Joseph Abraham Martinez of the home. Most of all his cherished grandson Ace Ponce, who was the highlight of his life. Chilly's love for his family was boundless and being a husband, dad and papa brought him his greatest joy in life. Chilly is also survived by his parents Maria Juanita and Abraham Palacios of San Antonio,TX, sister Jennifer and husband Rigo Luna of Littlefield, TX, brother Roy and wife Kandi Baca of Optima,OK, and brother Jorge Palacios of Albuquerque,NM. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

For 17 years Chilly worked in the gas and oil industry as a field mechanic. He was a hardworking, and loyal employee, always striving to provide for his family.

Chilly was known for his infectious humor, always ready with a joke that could make you laugh until it hurt. Beneath that comedic spirit was a heart of gold. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back or the last dollar in his pocket, he never knew a stranger.

Chilly's spare time was spent helping with the Coyote Calling Contest and many other fundraisers to help anyone in need, spending time with his family, and most of all he loved going on poker runs with his wife at whatever chance they got. Chilly was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

The family will greet friends on Friday, July 18th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday, July 19th at 1:00 pm at the Victory Center Church located at 2032 US Hwy 64 Guymon, OK 73942.
