Charles William "Bill" Walker was born on January 4, 1936, to Charles Olin and Vera Inez Walker in Konawa, OK.  He passed away at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK on March 7, 2025.

Well known businessman and long-time Guymon resident, Bill graduated from Konawa High School in 1954.  He worked in the oil field in Texas and Oklahoma.

He married Bonnie Louise Conley on May 27, 1956.  They lived in Oklahoma City and then followed the oil field to Beaver, OK where their daughter, Joanie, was born in 1957.  They moved to Guymon in 1958.  Their son, Kevin, was born in Guymon in 1963.

Bill purchased the Texaco Service Station in 1963.  He founded Walker Oil Company in 1968, built the APCO Service Station in 1969 and expanded into Guymon Auto Sales in 1970.  He was a mentor and role model for the dozens of young men who worked at his businesses.

Bill pursued many hobbies.  He raced motocross from 1969 to 1973.  He was extremely competitive and won most of his races, leaving many younger men "eating his dust".  He was a fearless skier and frequently loaded the car with kids and skis for a daytrip to Angel Fire, New Mexico.

He began restoring antique cars in 1974. He was a frequent participant in the annual Pioneer Day Parade.  He also built a hot rod pickup with his son, Kevin, and proudly dragged Main Street with his daughter, Joanie and her new husband, Ralph Ratliff, after their wedding in his beautifully restored Ford sedan.

He became a private pilot and logged 2,200 hours in his Cessna 182.  His pilot's license allowed him and Bonnie to travel to visit their children and other family members frequently.

He was an avid gardener, believing that if you can raise 10 tomato plants, you can buy a tractor and raise 100 tomato plants easier.  The entire family spent summer evenings shelling peasand preparing tomatoes, corn, green beans, and many other vegetables for canning.  Ever competitive, he raised seeds from the State Fair's largest watermelon and won countless blue ribbons at the Texas County Fair.

In 1997, a virus caused damage to his heart, which led to the need for a heart transplant in 2004.  When his health required him to pursue less strenuous activities, he collected antique clocks and attended auctions in search of antiques to put in his museum.

He never complained about his physical limitations; he adapted to them.  He was musical and taught himself to play the banjo by ear when his sight failed.

He was a good Christian man, serving on the board of Panhandle Bible Center and attending the First Assembly of God Church for many years.

He loved life and lived it to the very best of his ability.  He was a loving husband and father and was beloved by family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Olin and Inez Walkerand his brothers Paul and Walter Walker.  He is survived by his wife Bonnie of the home, his daughter Joanie and her husband Ralph Ratliff of Oklahoma City, his son Kevin and his wife Deeof Stillwater, his brother Pat Walker and his wife Jackie, sisters- and brothers-in law Barbara and Otis Vanderpool, Dorothy and Delbert Conley and Edra Conley and numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday afternoon, March 12th at 2:00 p.m. at the Guymon First Assembly Of God with Pastor Gary Griffin officiating..  Interment will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery.  There will be a time of visitation with family Tuesday March 11th between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. at Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home.
