Charles William Earls, 84 longtime Guymon resident, passed away Sunday evening September 28, 2025 at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal, Kansas.
The son of Charles Thomas and Maudie Loretta (Gaddy) Earls, he was born July 2, 1941 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. After Charles graduated from Beaver High School, he then attended Northwestern in Alva, Oklahoma and later Frank Phillips in Borger, Texas. He was married to Mary Ann Hoover on June 2, 1964 on her family farm near Elmwood, OK. She preceded him in death on June 15, 2025. After living in Grand Forks ND, Beaver OK, Borger TX, and Enid OK they finally settled in Guymon OK in 1979.
Charles was an Airforce Veteran and was engaged in law enforcement for several years around Borger, TX. He owned and operated his own truck hauling grain for years before retirement. He was a member of the Church of Christ and attended the Victory Memorial Methodist Men's breakfast in Guymon every Wednesday for decades. Charles was a Master Mason and a member of the Panhandle Shriners. He loved to camp, fish and pet his dogs along with being with family and working in his yard. Charles was a very kind, gentle and hardworking man. He especially loved seeing his new great granddaughter, Katie Ann, when she would come to visit.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mary Ann Earls; son, Lance Thomas Earls; brother, Donald Ray Earls and daughter-in-law, Lacrisha Diane (Stephens) Earls.
Survivors include two sons, Raylon Earls (and Lisa Hand), and Justin Earls both of Guymon; granddaughter, Shelby Earls (and Matt Heisler) of Guymon; great granddaughter, Katie Ann Heisler of Guymon, and sister-in-law, Nancy Earls of Tyler, Texas. Survivors also include numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be conducted Friday morning, October 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Beaver, Oklahoma Church of Christ with Read Barby officiating.
The Earls family request memorials in Lieu of flowers be given to Panhandle Shriners or Victory Memorial Methodist Men's Group in Guymon. Memorials will be accepted at Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942. Friends can sign the online guestbook and leave condolences at www.bunchroberts.com.
