Charity Beth Headrick Hitch, an extraordinary mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, and
proud life-long resident of Guymon, OK, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2024, at
the age of 36, following a courageous fight against breast cancer. Charity's inspiring
light enriched the lives of all who knew her.

Charity was born on May 17, 1988 to loving parents, Pete and Deborah Headrick, both
of Guymon. Charity's parents had prayed faithfully for a decade asking God to bless
them with child, and He over delivered with a beautiful baby girl, full of love and
ambition, that would accomplish more in 36 years than most would in 90. Charity was
deeply loved from the moment she was born by not only her parents and grandparents,
but countless aunts/uncles, cousins, and family friends of Pete and Deborah's. Three
years later, with red-tinted pigtails and precious freckles covering her pink cheeks,
Charity became a big sister, and she properly assumed a new role in life. Charity
fiercely loved and protected her younger siblings Hope and Colter. Throughout her life,
Charity could be found cheering her siblings on at athletic events, musicals and
everything in between. She was always so proud of her brother and sister, and quick to
brag of their accomplishments (though her's towered in comparison). Admittedly,
Charity was equally quick to correct her siblings for their wrong doings as she always
had a strong sense of right from wrong and was never one to break the rules! For 36
years, Charity filled the Headrick household with contagious laughter and
insurmountable love.

Charity was a 12 year senior and graduate of Guymon High School. Following her
diploma, Charity attended Oklahoma State University where she spent four and a half
years which were full of laughter, friendship, and maybe a tiny bit of rebellion. Charity
loved her time at OSU, where she made lasting impressions and lifetime
connections. While in Stillwater, she served as an RA, mentor, and friend to
underclassmen. Later, she worked as a bartender at her beloved college bar, "The
Penny." She shared a house with her best friends, affectionately called "Blue," which
quickly became the setting for her friends to get together. Charity was dependable,
strong, consistent, and always there when her friends needed her.

After college, she stayed close to many people. She was exceptionally close to five
women, Camra Fischer, Robyn Resnick, Rachel Domnick, Kendal Zuniga, and Chelsea
Evans. She was the group's planner and the Chair of their "Sunshine Committee,"
bringing joy to others when they needed it most. Charity always put others first, and
her joy and laughter brought happiness to those closest to her.

Charity was delighted to return to Guymon in 2011 and continue her life of service to
the community. As a permanent resident of Guymon in the past thirteen years, Charity
dedicated an incomparable amount of time and love to the community. In 2012, Charity
founded Christmas Cheer for Children so that over 100 children of Texas County would
receive Christmas presents each year. She was devoted to the First Presbyterian
Church where she served as an ordained elder and Sunday school teacher, was
fundamental in establishing the Presbyterian Discovery Academy, and more. Charity
also played a significant role in passing two school bonds for Guymon Public Schools
and served as President of the Guymon School Board. These are only a few notable
contributions to her community! For her passionate efforts, Charity was recognized as
the Guymon Citizen of the Year in 2019, and she would be quick to point out she was
the youngest citizen of the year… ever.  Charity loved her community unconditionally,
and they loved her in return.

Charity was not only a passionate citizen, but a talented entrepreneur. As a Hotel and
Restaurant Administration graduate, her education was instrumental in her business
interests as a photographer and co-owner of Fisch & Hitch. Charity and best friend,
Camra Fischer, founded Fisch & Hitch in 2019 to fulfill a lifelong dream of owning a
business together. Charity loved Fisch & Hitch, and fought hard for its reputation and
growth. Together, Charity and Camra filled their community with more than lovely
flower arrangements; they exemplified the meaning of friendship and service.

On August 31, 2013, Charity married the love of her life, Chris Hitch, at the First
Presbyterian Church in Guymon, OK. Together they built a beautiful life full of laughter,
some ruminative debates, and perfectly organized events on the Hitch ranch. From a
young age, Charity knew she would accept no less than being treated like royalty and
Chris lived up to her expectations! Chris supported Charity in all her endeavors, from
attempted chicken farming to opening her dream flower shop. Together, they were a
dynamic duo. Then, on June 5, 2014, Charity's life changed forever as she welcomed
her twin children into the world and gained her most valued title, "mama."  Henry (10),
Lily (10), and Stella (6) were Charity's most precious treasures in life, and her legacy
lives on through them. Charity adored listening to her children sing, play the piano,
read aloud, and fill their house with laughter and (nonstop) chatter. She particularly
enjoyed spending time at the Hitch pond with her children, watching them fish, kayak,
and swim. Henry enjoyed pond days with his mother, also. When asked, Stella's
favorite memories were special "Stella Days" during which her siblings and dad were
gone and Stella spent individual time with her mommy. When reminiscing about her
mother, Lily said, "before my mom got cancer the second time, I told her when I was 95
at her funeral I would tell everyone that I didn't used to like being told that I looked like
my mom. But now I realize that I love looking like my mom, because she was such a
wonderful person." As her children know, Charity led by example as she taught her
children right from wrong, standing up for what you believe in, showing kindness to all,
loving God, and living a selfless life. Though Charity's life on this earth was too short,
these foundations, and Charity's unwavering love, will live in her children's hearts for
years and generations to come.

Charity is survived by her husband Chris Hitch, three children Henry, Lilian, and Stella
Hitch, parents Pete and Deborah Headrick, sister Hope (Headrick) Plum and husband
Dekota, brother Colter Headrick. Nieces and Nephews: Scarlett, Emilia, and Jack Plum,
Tyler Hitch. Best Friend Camra Fischer and son Kalahan. Grandmother Marjorie
Headrick. Aunts and Uncles: Doug and Nancy Dale, John and Karen (Headrick)
Bergner, Mack and Sharon (Headrick) Hinchey, Joe and Billy (Headrick) Bass, Marsha
(Headrick) Truitt, and Suzy (Headrick) Johnson. Cousins: Jenny (Dale) Ely and Family,
David Dale and family, Chris and Brandon Bergner and Families, Adrienne (Bergner)
Kirkland and family, Macanda (Hinchey) Block and family, Shara Dawn Hinchey, Robyn
Hinchey, Averie (Hinchey) Lucas and family, Misty (Bass) McKendree and family,
Lucinda Bass and family, Clayton Bass and family, Deedra Bradford and family, Aubrey
(Johnson) Mann and family, Andrea (Johnson) Harris and family; and countless other
extended family members, close friends, and in-laws.

It seems most appropriate to end this with Charity's favorite Bible verse, one she lived
out to the fullest: So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of
these is love (1 Corinthians 13:13). And a reminder, that though we feel broken, our
God has not forsaken us as the Bible reminds us: The Lord is near to the broken
hearted and saves the crushed in spirit (Psalms 34:18).

To honor Charity's life, donations can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of
Guymon, which has played such a monumental role in Charity's life, and will continue
to give her children stability while teaching many children of the community of God's
unconditional love.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 23rd from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday morning, July 24th at 10:00 am at the Guymon First Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery.
