Carolyn Sue Sears, 69 former Guymon resident, passed away surrounded by her entire family on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was diagnosed with bone cancer on December 23, 2021.
She was the daughter of Jack and Patricia (Costner) Wing. She was born on May 19, 1952 in Guymon, Oklahoma. Carolyn attended Guymon schools, graduating with the Class of 1970, she then attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK.
She met the love of her life in Guymon, Greg Sears, and they got married June 4, 1974 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. She moved to Stillwater while her husband attended college, then moved to California for a few years, and returned to Guymon. Carolyn's love in life included family, friends, and the Lord. She worshiped and attended Living Word Fellowship for many years. She was a woman with great faith. Carolyn (Mimi) moved to Moore, Oklahoma where she could be closer to her children and grand children.
Mimi lived her life for the grandchildren. She enjoyed attending all school and sporting events. She especially enjoyed watching Sarah playing softball, Kyler playing football, and Gregory playing basketball. She loved any games where she could challenge someone and win.
Carolyn was so funny, had the biggest heart and loved everyone she met. She never met a stranger and considered all those she loved to be a part of her family. She was very positive and uplifting to others. She had a vivacious personality and was always the life of the party. She was generous, kind hearted and selfless.
She enjoyed painting, baking, and absolutely adored Christmas and candy canes. She made every holiday so special for everyone. She loved traveling to California and Oregon. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her, whether you knew her by Carolyn, Mimi or Sue Sue or Greg's beloved wife.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Patricia Wing, sister Dianna Garrison, brothers Jerry Wing and Patrick Wing.
She is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Greg Sears of the home for 47 years. Children: Channe and husband Rhett Laubach of Edmond, Oklahoma, Tricia Sears Worth of Norman, Oklahoma and Nick and Teri Sears of Coweta, Oklahoma. Grandchildren, One granddaughter Sarah Worth, 20, two grandsons Kyler Keenan, 20 and Gregory Worth, 16 . One sister, Lisa Walker and husband Glynn of Abilene, Texas. She has been reunited with her family who she has missed so much.
Visitation with the family will be held Sunday evening, February 27th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning, February 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Victory Center with Pastor Margaret Mendenhall officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery.
