Carol Jeane Rhoton, of Guymon, passed away Friday morning, March 10th, 2017 at the Coldwater Manor in Stratford, Texas.

The daughter of Carlous Eugene and Cecil Eugene (Thomason) Ivie, she was born August 20, 1934 in Elkhart, Kansas. The family moved from Elkhart to Imperial, California in 1936, and to Plainview, Oklahoma in 1949.

Carol graduated from Plainview, Oklahoma high school with the Class of 1952; she attended Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, graduating in 1956 with a teaching degree. She taught school for 32 years in Guymon, Boise City and Keyes.

Carol and Donald Rhoton were united in marriage on December 22, 1952 in Keyes. He preceded her in death on February 22nd of this year.

Survivors include two daughters: Candi L. Kelly and husband, Jim of Guymon and Tami King and husband, Keith of Stratford, Texas. Survivors also include four grandchildren: Chelsea and Clint Durbin of Guymon, Jennifer and Ben Hangartner of Celina, Texas, Jessica and Swenson Audrain of Stratford, Texas and Josh King of Perryton, Texas; and ten great grandchildren: Wyett Chase, Colson and Coy Durbin, Shaylee, Reaghan, Cody-Paige and Sam Audrain and Kingston, Kennedy and Kamdyn Hangartner, and two sisters, Gwen Strasburg of Apple Valley, California and Laneta Ivie of Amarillo, Texas.

Interment will be Tuesday morning, March 14th at 10:00 a.m. at the Willowbar Cemetery in Keyes, Oklahoma. Memorial services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Panhandle Bible Center in Guymon with Jim and Tillie Jamieson officiating. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
