Carla Preston, 67, of Texhoma passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021 at her home.  The daughter of Joe Martin Burries, Sr. and Ruth Lynda (Martin) Burries, Carla Joan Burries was born September 7, 1953 in Garden City, Kansas.  The family moved to Texhoma in the summer of 69 and Carla attended Texhoma High School.

Carla was married to Richard Lucas in 1971 and they had a daughter, Michele.  In 1985, Carla was married to Jonnie C. Preston and they had a daughter, Lacey.  Carla also gained two more daughters through her marriage to J.C., Christie and Valarie.

Carla was a member of the Texhoma First Baptist Church.  She loved watching basketball and was the happiest when she was watching her grand and great grandchildren's activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Terry Lee Burries; brother, Joe Martin "Butch" Burries, Jr.; two granddaughters, Kerina Bundy and Jessika Alexander; and great niece, Rebeca VanderMerwe.

Survivors include her two daughters: Michele and husband, Valton Bundy of Chandler, TX and Lacey and husband, Robert Alexander of Texhoma, TX; two step-daughters: Christie and husband, Gaylon Short of Breckenridge, TX and Valarie Monroe of Elk City, OK; her grandchildren: Vivian Bundy of Wylie, TX, Valene and husband, Nathan Jordan of Edom, TX, Venesa Bundy and fiancé, Ricky Alvarez of Bishop, TX, Josten Bundy of Chandler, TX, Ryan Smyth and Dalton Monroe of Elk City, OK, Colby Short of Breckenridge, TX, and Carrie, Audra, Ashley, Stetsyn, Cole, Christian and Bentley Alexander, all of Texhoma, TX; great grandchildren: Slatyn and Save ry Sebring of Wylie, TX, Madden Martin of Chandler, TX, Kristen Alvarez, RJ and Keznee Macias all of Bishop, TX, Livia and Lathan Jordan of Edom, TX .  Carla is also survived by her sister, Darla and husband, Keith Burrow; nephews, David and Snowden Burrow and niece, JoLynda Neas, all of Texhoma, TX.

There will be a time for viewing and visiting with Carla's family at the Texhoma First Baptist Church on Monday evening, June 21 ^st from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning, June 22 ^nd at 11:00 a.m. at the Texhoma First Baptist Church with Pastor Darren Carpenter officiating.  A family inurnment will be held at a later date at the Texhoma Cemetery.
