Bobbye Lee Beer's Obituary
Bobbye Lee Beer, 75, lifelong Guymon area resident passed away Thursday morning, March 22, 2018 at the Autumn Leaves in Oklahoma City.
The daughter of Ralph Winfield and Bettye Jean (Davis) Kiser, Bobbye Lee was born April 29, 1942 in Guymon. Bobbye attended the Guymon school system, graduating with the GHS Class of 1960.
Bobbye and Gerald Beer were united in marriage on May 7, 1965 at the First Baptist Church in Guymon. She was a homemaker and had worked at local banks as a bank teller, at the city library, as a church secretary and also for Adam's Hardfacing.
Bobbye was an active member of the Guymon First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years and was involved in the church TV ministry. Bobbye was also very active in genealogy and was the original coordinator for the Texas County USGenWeb site. She was a charter member of the High Plains Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution and had served as a DAR Regent three times. In addition to her love of family, Bobbye had a great love for the Oklahoma Sooners and enjoyed attending their football games.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband of over 52 years, Gerald Beer of the home; two daughters: Tracye Beer of Guymon and Tanya Burcham and husband, Scott of Norman, Oklahoma; and one grandson, Jordan Burcham, also of Norman.
A private graveside service will be at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon. Memorial services will be conducted Monday afternoon, March 26th at 2:00 p.m. at the Guymon First Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Carter and Tom Hugghins officiating. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
The family suggests that memorials in Bobbye's name may be made to the FBC TV Ministry. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942 or at the church office.
