Bill Huddleston, 72, longtime Texhoma area resident passed away Sunday morning, September 18, 2016 at the Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo, Texas from injuries sustained in an accident.
The son of Roy Joe and Juanita Mildred (Wright) Huddleston, William Roy "Bill" was born March 24, 1944 in the Eva, Oklahoma community. Bill attended the Texhoma School system, graduating with the Class of 1962. He then attended Panhandle State University, receiving his degree in Animal Husbandry in 1966.
Bill and Eletha Belle Clark were married and two daughters were born to this union. Bill worked as a farmer, rancher and horse trainer. He took great pride in working at Sunny Slope Horse Farm for Billy Allen in Scott City, Kansas for several years. He was a member of the Texhoma United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Roy & Helen Huddleston and Earl & Oma Wright; an infant daughter; grandson, Austin Harper, niece, Misty Inman and friend Leta Akins.
Survivors include his daughter, Nanine Harper and husband, Barry of Hugoton, Kansas; three grandchildren: Brie Greeson and husband, Carl of Liberal, Kansas, Tucker Heaton of Amarillo, Texas and Jessica Harper of Overland Park, Kansas; one great granddaughter, Teagen Greeson; his step-mother, Nadine Huddleston of Amarillo, Texas; one brother, Donnie Huddleston and wife, Valerie of rural Texhoma; three sisters: Cathy Evans of Lago Vista, Texas, Shirley Clark and husband, Sonny of Amarillo and Sandi Dunstan and husband, David of Amarillo; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday morning, September 22nd at 10:00 a.m. at the Texhoma United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Enright, pastor officiating. Interment will follow at the Texhoma Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
The family suggests that memorials in Bill's name be made to the OPSU Livestock Judging Team, OPSU Scholarship Foundation or to the Texhoma United Methodist Church. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.
