Betty Jean (Jones) Hadley, 76, passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 1, 2024 at her home in Corpus Christi, Texas.
The daughter of Delbert and Irene (Miller) Jones, she was born April 28, 1948 in Liberal, Kansas. Betty was raised in Guymon and attended the Guymon school system, graduating with the class of 1967.
Betty and Rodger Dale Hadley were united in marriage on October 15, 1966 in Guymon. They made Guymon their home for many years, where Betty worked in retail management at Anthony's and Conrads. They left Guymon in 1999 and moved to Tyler, Texas and later to Indiahoma, Oklahoma. Rodger passed away on November 11, 2015. Betty had returned to Guymon for a short time but had been living in Corpus Christi for the past two years. She loved being with family and was a devoted Granny.
In addition to her husband of 49 years, she was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Kim Hadley on June 9, 2018.
Survivors include her daughter, Amy Hadley and Eric Merrill and their children Payson and Tayla Merrill of Guymon and Kim's three children: Kreg Hadley and wife Amanda and their children, Madison, Dylan and Ryder, all of Corpus Christi, Krystal Cornett of Tyler, Texas and Kachell Varnado and husband Dustin and their children, Carter, Liam and Bryce all of Gilmer, Texas.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, July 13th at 2:00 pm at the chapel at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma with Payson Merrill officiating and attendees are encouraged to wear yellow or sunflowers to help celebrate Betty. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband and daughter at the Eagletown, Oklahoma Cemetery.
