Bertha Rubio de Calderon, 68, longtime Guymon resident, passed away Sunday evening, January 21, 2018 at the Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.
The daughter of Ramon Rubio Carrasco and Julia de la Cruz Palacio, she was born in Meoqui, Chihuahua Mexico on June 7, 1949. Bertha was married to Roberto A. Calderon in May of 1975 in El Paso, Texas.
Mrs. Calderon moved to Guymon from El Paso in 1986. She was employed by Naifeh's Steak House for twenty years, retiring in 2011. She was a homemaker and member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roberto in December of 2017, an infant daughter and sister, Ramona Rubio.
Survivors include four children: Juan Calderon and wife, Chelsea of Guymon, Isabelle Calderon and husband, Alejandro Galarza of Guymon, Ricardo Calderon and wife, Emma Montoya of Guymon and Jesus Rubio and wife, Marilu of Pecos, Texas. Survivors also include ten grandchildren, two brothers, Oscar Rubio of Friona, Texas and Antonio Rubio of Columbus, Ohio, and four sisters, Ernestina Ochoa of Midland, Texas, Ofelia Rubio of Oklahoma City, Carmen Lerma of Canutio, Texas and Olivia Medrano of Mexico.
Memorial services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, February 3rd at 1:00 p.m. the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home with Deacon German Rodriguez and Father Mike Wheelahan officiating.
The Calderon family request memorials be given to the National Foundation for Transplants. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942.
