Barbara Ann (French) Bridges, 81, longtime Guymon resident, passed away Wednesday afternoon, November 22, 2017, at the Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.

The daughter of C.E. "Jeff" and Esther French, she was born July 5, 1936 in Tyrone, Oklahoma. Barbara was an infant when the family moved from Tyrone to Guymon. She attended all twelve years of school in Guymon, graduating with the Class of 1954. She then attended PAMC in Goodwell for two years.

Barbara and Bill Wayne Bridges were united in marriage on June 5, 1955 in Guymon. She worked in customer service for GTE for twenty-eight years. She was an active member of the Guymon First Baptist Church; serving in the choir, Sunday School teacher, and helped Bill in the Church Television Ministry. Barbara loved the art of writing beautiful calligraphy, and produced many documents for family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Bridges, her parents and sister Janice Kay Livingston, and baby sister Anita Jean French.

She is survived by four nieces and nephews: Anita Thornburg and husband Kevin of Hooker; Janine Perry of Arkansas; Kayleen Way and husband Shawn of Texas; Fred Perry Jr. and wife Robin also of Texas and many great nieces and nephews.

She always looked for the best in everyone. She will be missed but she is celebrating in heaven with her Savior and many loved ones.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday morning, November 29th at 10:00 a.m. at the Guymon First Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

Memorials in memory of Barbara may be given to the First Baptist Church TV Ministry. Memorials will be accepted at the church office or the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942.
