Antonio (Tony) Carrillo, 44, of Enid, Oklahoma formerly of Elkhart, Kansas passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022. Tony had a short battle with spinal meningitis and was being treated at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma when he passed.
Tony was born on October 8, 1977 to Bonifasio (Ruben)and Manuela Carrillo in Ulysses, Kansas. Tony and Cristil were united in marriage on July 9, 2016 in Elkhart, Kansas at the Church of God.
Tony grew up in Surrey Hills, attending Yarbrough School throughout the duration of his education, graduating in 1997. While attending high school Tony was involved in various activities with basketball being his favorite. At any point in time, whether you asked or not, he would tell you a story of how he became "The Legend". He loved to tell funny stories to anyone who would listen. If he really liked you, you had a nickname! Tony was a family man who valued time spent with loved ones especially all of his nieces and nephews. One of Tony's pride and joys was his son Daven. Daven and Tony loved anything outdoors especially fishing and anything OU. You would often hear Tony bragging about the fact his son attends OU and plays an important role with the OU football program. Tony was very knowledgeable in OU football trivia. Often times family and friends would get a history lesson on the current and past players. Sometimes the history would travel as far back as the athlete's grandparents.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ruben Carrillo, andniece, Analy Nevarez.
Survivors include his wife, Cristil and son Daven of the home. His mother, Manuela Carrillo. Brothers: Leonardo (Corinna) Carrillo, Juan (Aurelia) Carrillo, and Iban Carrillo. Two sisters: Alma Nevarez and Alba Carrillo all of Elkhart Kansas. Nieces: Hailey, Natalie, Emily, Mila, Jaylin, Angelica, Madelyn, Molly, Reese, and Jaxon. Nephews: Ismael, Manuel, Noah, Mason, Alan, Joel, and Kade.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday October 6 th at 10:00 AM at the Elkhart Church of God with Pastor Denny Huebner officiating. Interment will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday between the hours of 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm at the Bunch-Roberts Funeral home in Guymon, Oklahoma.
A friendship fund in memory of Antonio has been established at the Heartland Tri-State Bank in Elkhart, Kansas. Memorials will be accepted at the bank or the Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112 Guymon, Oklahoma 73942.
