Obituary

Annie Mae Mareś, 78, longtime Guymon resident, passed away Sunday morning, March 16, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

The daughter of James Elija and Naomi Marine (Trentham) Cotton, she was born April 3, 1946 in Lamar County, Alabama.  The family moved from Alabama to Guymon in 1952.

Annie attended school in Guymon, was a member of the Body of Christ, and enjoyed traveling.

She was married to Adolph Mareś in Guymon on May 24, 1969.  Annie was a homemaker and worked with Adolph custom harvesting.  He preceded her in death in 2000.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, James and Naomi Cotton, sister, Dortha Robinett and brother, Billy Cotton.

Survivors include brother, James Cotton of Port Lavaca, Texas, niece, Elizabeth Edwards of Guymon, great niece, Alexis Hickman of Sublette, Kansas, great-great nephew, Jason Settles of Sublette, Kansas and great-great niece, Siena Settles, along with numerous other nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Saturday morning, March 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at Elmhurst Cemetery with Dave Disney officiating.  Visitation will be Friday evening, March 21st between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. at Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home.

Memorials in memory of Annie can be made to Sublime Animal Sanctuary. Memorials will be accepted at Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.
