Obituary

Amy O'Leary Brewer, 89, longtime Guymon resident passed away Saturday morning, March 24, 2018 at her home.

Amy was one of fourteen children born to Eli Commodore and Minne Rzona (Scroggins) Philpott and was born June 1, 1928 in Decatur, Arkansas. She attended school and worked in Decatur, before meeting an Army boy from the Oklahoma Panhandle who had just returned from WWII.

Amy and Clarence Pruitt O'Leary were united in marriage on December 22, 1945 in Bentonville, Arkansas. They made their home in Guymon. Clarence preceded her in death on February 22, 1973.

On May 10, 1974 Amy and Malcolm Earl Brewer were united in marriage in Perryton, Texas. Earl preceded her in death on September 27, 2012.

Amy worked as a homemaker. She also ran a nursery, worked at the Colonial Inn and for Memorial Hospital of Texas County for several years. She was an avid Bingo player and had a special love for her grandkids.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Clarence P. O'Leary, Jr.; two grandsons: John and JoJo; one granddaughter, Stephanie; and twelve brothers and sisters.

Survivors include three children: John O'Leary and wife, Linda, Darlene and husband, J.B. Ketcherside and Patty O'Leary, all of Guymon; eleven grandchildren: David, Tammy, Beth, Kenny, Jay, Melissa, Jimmy, Bryan, Jason, Sabrina and Patrick. She is also survived by numerous great, great-great and great-great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Leta Warren of Grove, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon, March 28th at 2:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Chapel with Jim Jamieson officiating. Interment will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, March 27th from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Memorials in memory of Amy can be given to the American Heart Association. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.
