Dorothy Bell Pafford, 89, of Hardesty, Oklahoma; passed away Sunday afternoon, April 8th, 2012 at the Dunaway Manor in Guymon.
The daughter of Lee Monroe and Josephine Pearl (Lamkin) Cooper, she was born on the family farm located SE of Hardesty on October 17, 1922. She attended school in Hardesty graduating with the Class of 1941.
Dorothy and Marion Edison Pafford were united in marriage on May 2, 1942 in Guymon. She was a homemaker; Hardesty school cook for several years; enjoyed quilting, and attended the Hardesty First Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Marion on January 8, 2006, and five brothers and sisters: Thelma Mussman, Irene Rhodes, Eva Mussman, Lee Monroe Cooper Jr. and Josephine Small.
Survivors include two sons, Lee Pafford and wife, Judy of Boise City, Oklahoma, and Glen Pafford and wife, Sue of Waxahachie, Texas; four grandchildren: Shelly Hardesty of Hennessey, Oklahoma, Brian Pafford of Yukon, Oklahoma, Kurt Pafford of Dumas, Texas, and Misty Parker of Weatherford, Texas. Survivors also include eleven great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon, April 12th at 2:00 p.m. at the Bunch-Roberts Chapel with Rev. Harold Bollinger officiating. Interment will follow in the Hartville Cemetery SE of Hardesty. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
The Pafford family request memorials be given to the Cal Farley Boy’s Ranch or the Hardesty Sr. Citizens Center. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942.
